Hi Chuck,
Yes, I think we have a connection, but my problem is that when my Gr Grandmother came she came under a different name and I don't know what her parents names where. I just know that she was born in Denmark. I do not know exactly where though. I know that some of the Zerakitsy family went to Kobenhaven in the early 1820/40s.
This is what I received this am from the library in Aarhus. They are responding to my questions on Homager.

(Can you tell me what the Homager means?? To me it look like the first two letters have melted together - S and k - so the word is the name of the occupation Shoemaker

During the investigation of the family Zerakitschy (spelled in different ways) I have got many extrations of the churchbooks of Aarhus. If you like I could send them to you.

I have found the death of Peter Zareketschy in Aarhus 1832, 26 June with the occupation given as former fire[brigade]drummer. Age: 81 year

and the son two month later: 1832, 6. August
Peter Julius Zarekitsky, day-labourer, death in the charitable institution, 49 year)

The Library has been very helpful and they translate what they send. I repplied to them to send whatever they can on the family. I will keep looking and we do have the same names.

I hope to hear from you soon
June in Wyoming
