     Christian Stover was born on 22 June 1766 in Lower Salford Township, Philadelphia County, now Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of Mathias Stauffer and Anna Clemens. Christian Stover was also known as Christian Stauffer and was commonly called "Good" Christian, to distinguish him from his cousin "Little" Christian.3 He married Elizabeth Funk, daughter of Abraham Funck and Mary Landis.4,3,5 Christian Stover was a farmer.5,4 He and Elizabeth lived in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.5 Christian Stover and Elizabeth were Mennonites.4 Christian Stover died on 29 August 1849 in Lower Salford Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, at age 83 years, 2 months and 7 days.3,6,1
