     William Everette Halteman was born on 26 May 1906 at 23 Staubridge Street, Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,4,5,6 He was the son of William S. Halteman and Melvina Raysor. William Everette Halteman married Anna McGrath, daughter of John McGrath and Winnie Hughes, on 18 February 1936 in Massachusetts.7 William Everette Halteman and Anna lived in 1936 at 50 Rhode Island Avenue, Washington N.W., District of Columbia.8 William Everette Halteman was a taxi cab driver in May 1940.9 He and Anna lived in May 1940 at 1266 Penn Street Northeast, Washington, District of Columbia.10 William Everette Halteman and Anna lived in 1950 at 1448 Girard Street North West, Washington, District of Columbia.11 William Everette Halteman and Anna lived at 1446 Washington Avenue, Alexandra, Virginia.11 William Everette Halteman and Anna lived in 4078 Washington Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia.11 William Everette Halteman was a mail carrier, employed by the United States Post Office.12 He and Anna lived in 1970 at P. He was recorded as being a 23-year-old single white male who was born in Pennsylvania to parents both of whom were born in Pennsylvania. He could speak English, read and write and had not attended school since September 1, 1929. He was classified as a worker and had not been at work the previous day. His occupation was given as "none". He was not a veteran of the United States armed forces15. William was listed as the head of a family on the 1940 Census in 1266 Penn Street Northeast, Washington, District of Columbia. He was recorded as being a 33-year-old married white male who was born in Pennsylvania. In 1935 he had lived in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was renting his home and the rent was $35. He was not attending school and he had completed two years of high school. He was employed as a chauffer working for a taxi cab company. He had worked 60 hours the previous week and had worked 52 weeks the previous year. He was classified as a wage or salary worker in private work. He made $1200 from salary and had no other income.9.16

     Susanna Bechtel was born circa 1813 in Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of John C Bechtel and Elizabeth High. Susanna Bechtel married Noah F. Halteman, son of Benjamin Halteman and Fannie Funk, on 8 January 1837 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.2 Susanna Bechtel died on 27 May 1872.2
