     Johannes Fried was born circa 1682.¹ He married Christina (?) Johannes Fried was the probable father of Johannes Fried. As of 7 May 1744, Johannes Fried was also known as John Freed.² He left a will on 7 May 1744.^2,3 The transcript of the Will read:
In the name of God Amen, The Seventh day of May, 1744, I John Freed living in the township of Skippack, in the province Pennilvanny in the County of Philadelphia, being very Sick, and weak in Body but of perfect Mind & memory. Thanks be given unto God therefore Calling unto Mind the mortality of my Body and Knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die do make & ordain this my last Will & Testament That is to say principally & first of all I give & Recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it, and for my Body I Recommend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like & decent manner at the discretion of my Executor nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty Power of God.
And as touching Such Wordly Estate wherewith God it hath pleased to bless me in this Life I give devise & dispose of the same in the following manner & form. Imprimis it is my Will & I do order that in the first place all my just Debts & funeral Charges be paid & satisified. Item: I give & bequeath unto Christina Freeds my dearly beloved Wife the Sum of sixcthy Pounds in Bond & good lawful Monies.--
Item I give to my said wife in money the Sum of 50 Pound. further I bequeth in following Condition unto my dearly beloved Wife in good lawfull Monies the Sum of fourthy Pounds, which sd Sum She has in Power for her self to do profit with it as long as she is my Widow, And if It should come with her in Variety to Marriage then it is my Will & Testament the above bementioned Sum fourthy Pounds Shall be orderth to Restitution to my Children after my Wifes' death.
It is further my Last Will & Ordinance that my dear wife Christinna Freeds shall have a free dwell & widow fit within the House as long as She is my Widow.
Further I do give to my aforsd Wife de halfe Fruit in Wheat who Stands this Year in the Field.
Item by this my Will & Testament I give these Ordinance pelonging Christina Freeds my dear wife as long as she is my Widow She shall have a part of the Orchards at the West Side till the Path under the Garden & the half part in the Garden.---
Item I bequeath & give the half part in the Cellar as long she is my Widow---
Item I give a Cow to my well beloved wife for her own, to have & to holds, and She has liberty to take the best under our Cows, and my Will and Order is to my well beloved Son John Freed as my Executor, that he shall do well & truly, and truly & keep & feed his Mothers Cows as well as his own.---
Item: I bequeath to Christina Freeds my beloved Wife, one great cloths Schomk as long as she is my Widow---
Belonging our bed I bequeath it to my dear Wife such to have & to hold for her own with all what belongs to it.
Belonging our Kitchen Goods it is my Will that my wife shall have the Sixt part of it.---
Belonging my Servant Maid named Brabara I ordain in this my Last Will that she shall Stand to my Wife's Service till her Serve Time is out.
Belonging my last will & Testament to my dearly and well beloved Children named as following Henry Freeds, ---Peter Freeds, Catharine Freeds, Maria Freeds, & John Freeds I give my last Will & order to you together Depart from evil & do good. Seek peace and pursue it, and honoured your Mother.
Further belonging this my bequeathed Estate whereof I you in this my Will and Testament every one willingly bequeath as following:
First I have for my beloved Son Henry Freed given & payit, for his Land the Sum of hundert Pounds with Condition that the Sum of 50 £, I say Fyfthy Pounds, must he give again to his Sister Maria which he willingly promised he do any time.
Further I have paid to my dear Son Peter Fifthy Pounds. Further I have paid to my beloved Daughter Catharine the Sum of Fifthy Pounds. These above named four Persons of my beloved Children every one of them have received or in order to receive the Sum of fifthy Pounds for Land in good Lawful Monies.
Belonging further my well beloved Son John Freed whom I likewise constitute make an Ordain my only sole Executor of this my Last Will & Testament all and Singular the Lands Messuages and Tenements tho him his Heirs an Assigns forever. This my beloved Son John Freed my only Executor I give my Land to him his Heirs an Assigns for ever. Contains in one hundred & thirthy Acre, I say 130 with all what belongs to it in Building with Right & Titles for the Sum of 300 Pounds in good lawful Monies. The Condition of the aforsaid Sum is following I give by these my Last Will & Testament to my well beloved Son John Freed my Executor from the above mentioned Sum one hundert Pound for his own out of the Plantation & he shall give every one of his four Sisters fifthy Pound out of the Plantation.
Further it is my Order in this my Will and Testament while I have given mine above named four Children every one fifthy Pounds in Monies for Land above named my dear Children Shall not to first fast in het begin. N. L. Brother be. Therefore I have Consider this thing & found it good to Set a Time. I say my dear Son John Freed my Executor shall have the plantation 4 Year free without Intrest. ----If he can pay some what in this time is well.
In this my Last Will & Testament I give my Son John Freed my Brundewein Kettles to have & to hold with all what belongs to it.---
Item: I give a Mare to my Son John Freed but if he leik it rather to have the Servant Boy Alexander Stockslager it is in his free liberty. further I give my beloved Son my Waggon in the Peogen.
Further I give 20 Shilling in the Alms.
It is further my Will to my dearly beloved ffriends Jacob Creder & Paul Freed, I Confirm you to be Administrators over this my Last Will & Testament to conclude and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke & disannul all & every other former Testaments Wills Legacies & Executors by me in any ways before this Time named Willed & bequeathed Ratifying & Confirming this & no other to be my Last Will & Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand & Seal in the Day & Year above written.----

Salford the fifth Day of February 1744/5 Then personally appeared George Smith on his Oath & Martin Kolb two of the Witnefses to the within written Will on his Oath & Martin, on the Affirmation respectively did declare they saw & heard Johannes Freed the Testator within mentioned Sign Seal publish & declare the Same Will to be his Last Will & Testament & at the doing thereof he was of sound Mind Memory & Understanding to the best of their knowledge. Be it Remembered That on the fifth Day of February 1744 The Last Will & Testament of John Fried dece'd was proved in due form of Law & Probate & Letters Testamantary were granted to John Freed Executor in the said Testament named he having first solomnly Affirmed well and truly to Administer the Decedents Estate and to bring an Inventory thereof into the Register Generals Office on or before the fifth Day of March next and also to render a true Account when therunto lawfully required. Given under the Seal of the said Office & Order.
Pet. Evans, Regr. Genl.. He died on 21 December 1744.⁴ He was buried in Lower Skippack Mennonite Meeting-house Cemetery, Lower Skippack Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.⁴ John's will was probated before Jacob Reiff on 5 February 1744/45.²

     Christina (?) married Johannes Fried. Her married name was Fried. Christina (?) was the probable mother of Johannes Fried.
