Hans Heinrich Rÿff was also known as Hans Heinrich Reiff. He was baptized on 19 March 1622.1 He married Anna Hitz, daughter of Jörg Hitz and Elsbeth Oberholtzer, on 9 March 1652 in Wädenswil, Switzerland.1 Hans Heinrich Rÿff and Anna Hitz appeared on the census of 1670 in Wädenswil, Switzerland. Their sons Michael, Joseph and Christen and daughter Barbel were listed as living with them.1 Hans Heinrich Rÿff immigrated with his brother Joseph Rÿff and Anna Hiestand of Hutton in January 1673 to the Palatine.2 Hans Heinrich Rÿff and Anna Hitz appeared on the census of 1689 in Wädenswil, Switzerland, with their children Michael, Joseph and Christen and Barbel. The Lutheran pastor of Wädenswil wrote a long, almost illegible, note indicating that Henrich Rÿff and his family had joined the Anabaptist faith.1 Hans Heinrich Rÿff and Anna were Anabaptists, along with their children, at least by in 1689. The pastor at Wädensil tried to get them to "confess their error." There is evidence that they were Anabaptists in 1670.1
